![]() And as with Spotify (and matching its £10/month tier), there are two choices for using the service/app. As with Spotify, the idea is that every track ever released (well, almost) is in its library and then you access this music via streaming means over Wifi or cellular data as needed. ![]() Which is where Deezer Music comes in, here with its now immaculate UWP implementation for all Windows 10 computers/devices. ![]() No messing around once it's all set up and uploaded, though I'll admit that it's more for someone who has a 'static' music set up, since there's no discovery of 'new' music. If you're old school like me and have a Office 365 subscription like me then this is one way to go - I have 25GB of music in Microsoft's cloud and it all appears in Groove Music. There's one obvious streaming solution that will always be available, of course - and that's streaming your own music from your OneDrive. And the good news is that the application has had updates and still gets full support, even in the twilight years of the mobile OS. The previous mention of Deezer Music UWP was at the launch for Windows 10, two and a half years ago. It's not as huge as Spotify, but the idea's very similar and the implementation under W10M is top notch. I also don't understand why when I hit the Roadtrip Mix I get French Pop music ).Never reviewed on AAWP before, but seemingly the last premium music streaming service running as a full, native UWP application for Windows 10 Mobile, I thought it was high time that Deezer Music got some attention here. I'm sure there are other parameters, but those two would make Flow way more enjoyable for heavy listeners such as myself. Another parameter could be to favor new discovery music, suggestions by the algorithm, or to favor your favorites catalogue. One such parameter could be something like "timeframe for repeat", where you tell the algorithm to repeat songs after x hours (I'd probably put it at 40 hours, so I don't hear the same song twice in a week). What would be great are parameters to adjust and tweak the Flow algorithm. I love the variety of different genres and moods. I like hearing Chris Stapleton after Soundgarden or RHCP after Neil Diamond, for instance. I'm not a big fan of listening to genre mixes or mood mixes. I looked through r/deezer for some ideas on how to change it up a bit, but nothing really seems to work in changing things up. This happens multiple times with multiple songs and can give that stale feeling of listening through the same playlist every day despite the mix. For whatever reason, the algorithm favors this one song by this one artist that far down the queue, when it should play other songs by that one artist. It's fairly consistent, around the 3 o'clock hour, this ONE song will come on almost without fail. Listening to 40 hours of music every week, you can really get a good sense of how an algorithm works, and while Flow has that new discovery element I really enjoy, it tends to repeat the same songs at around the same time of day. In theory, this is an awesome idea, but in practice, after a few weeks of heavy listening, there's a lot to be desired from it from my experience. I love this feature because I hear new stuff I haven't heard or wouldn't have thought to add to my favorites, that element of discovery (or rediscovery) makes Flow one of Deezer's best features. Go through their catalogue, like the songs and artists and when you hit flow, it plays those artists and songs while also playing other artists. I tried out Deezer and the Flow function I found pretty appealing. I don't like patronizing the Big Tech companies, so I've been looking for alternatives. I'm not sure why their algorithm does this but it favors repeating other songs over others and leaving other songs unplayed for weeks. But I found that the shuffle feature didn't mix things up very well and I was getting too many songs being repeated everyday. My solution there was put every conceivable artist discography into one massive playlist (their playlist limit being 100k) and hit shuffle. I've come from a number of different services, my last one being Apple Music. The number one thing I want is to listen through 40 hours of music every week and not hear the same song twice I just want to hit play and not think about my music all day. I'm a set it and forget it kind of guy, I don't want to think about curating the perfect playlist or want to change playlists throughout the day. I work in a lab setting and have music playing in the background all day everyday.
