Assign tasks with mentions in Excel for the web Feature deep dive Scott McFadden Hi, Office Insiders. ![]() With labels, buckets, progress symbols, dates, assignments, comments, and attachments shown for each task on the Board, you can get a good sense of what's going on in your plan, at a glance. You can sort tasks into buckets to help you organize tasks into things like phases, types of work, or departments. If you need more ways to organize your work, you might find buckets helpful. When you have a new project, you can start by typing any user’s name into the Assigned to field: When you select your first user, you’ll now have the option to decide whether to share the project with them. Once you've defined labels on one task, they're available to all tasks in the plan.įor example, you can define the pink label as "Safety" on the "Add funds to account" task, and then set that same flag on every other task in your plan that is related to safety. In an open task window, click the Assign Task button. Many of you have enjoyed using the feature in Word for the web. If its up to you to designate job responsibilities, you can use Outlook to assign tasks to other people. The people you assign the tasks to will receive email notifications, letting them know they need to take action. Note that renaming the label will affect all instances where that label color is used in the plan. This feature allows you and your team to conveniently create and assign tasks directly from within your Word document using mentions in comments. To rename a label, select the pencil icon next to it in the list, and then enter a new name for it. On the card, select Add label, and then select from one of the 25 labels in the list.
